Exhibiting my sculpture, Embrace, at Ras Al Khaimah's beautiful heritage site—an early 19th-century pearl village—was a memorable experience. The exhibition featured large prints and sculptures, with Embrace displayed in one of the charming small houses. I discovered that the cool breeze inside was due to the clever use of coral and seashells in the structure’s stone and mud, adding both strength and natural ventilation.
The "Embrace" sculpture features three Arabic Alifs that symbolise questioning norms and embracing growth in an evolving world. Two upright Alifs represent exploring the concept of "normal," while a curved Alif embodies movement and progress. Crafted from transparent acrylic with warm autumn hues, the sculpture invites viewers to reflect on change and diversity, challenging conventional ideas of normalcy and urging a fresh perspective on progress. Standing on a sleek pedestal, "Embrace" serves as a thought-provoking piece about the beauty of life's constant evolution.
